"2/25/62 Elders in Hermosillo, Son. Looking to make possible the progress of the gospel." A group photograph of the elders of a Church of Christ in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Churches of Christ are a congregationalist tradition with no structure or hierarchy beyond that of the local congregation. Each congregation in the tradition is autonomous and overseen by a group of elders selected out of the congregation.
