This collection contains some of the personal notebooks of Alfred Ellmore. This collection is housed in 1 box.
Alfred Ellmore was born in southern Indiana in 1838. He knew his desire to preach from a young age. Ellmore began preaching in 1865. Along with preaching, he also wrote for the Gospel Advocate and the Gospel Echo and wrote several books: Which is the True Church?, 1877; Maple Valley Poems, 1892; Gems, Proverbs and Allegories, 1912; Sermons and Sayings, 1918. He also served as president of Gunter Bible College, Gunter, Tex., from 1912 to 1922. After this, he returned to his native Indiana. He died in 1925, after suffering complications associated with a broken hip.
