Scope and Content Note
A collection of papers, photos, a book and a video from the life of missionary to Mexico, John F. Wolfe. Papers include correspondence, fund raising, lists, reports, and information on other Mexico missionaries.
John Franklin Wolfe was born in 1901 in Ohio. Wolfe was born in Ohio, but for the greater part of his life, made his home in Texas. Graduating from Steele High School in Dayton, Ohio, he finished his education in Abilene Christian College, Pepperdine College, and the University of New Mexico. Most of his work as a minister in the Church of Christ, was among Spanish speaking people of the United States and in Mexico. He was married to Elizabeth Kirby in 1935 in New Mexico. Wolfe was a minister to Spanish speaking people in San Antonio, Texas; El Paso, Texas; New Mexico and Old Mexico. He was a poet and published several books of poems, one entitled "Rahab and other Poems". Wolfe was also the editor of Latin American Christian from 1940. Wolfe died in 1987.

Papers are arranged by subject, though not in alphabetical or chronological order. Photographs are separated into clear photo pockets, with the majority unlabeled.
