Abstract

A videorecording of an interview with Clark Stevens, President of Chaparral Airlines, conducted by Dr. Gary McCaleb of Abilene Christian University. Chaparral Airlines was a regional airline based in Abilene, Texas that began service during the 1970s. By 1979, Chaparral was operating nonstop flights to both Dallas Love Field (DAL) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and was also flying nonstop to Austin (AUS) and Houston Hobby Airport (HOU). In 1985, Chaparral become known as American Eagle, a regional carrier flying on behalf of American Airlines.
