"Elijah Wang being baptized by John Kao September 28, 1967, Taiwan." John Kao, former dean of the Taiwan Bible College and a leader in Churches of Christ in Taiwan, baptizes Elijah Wang. Originally a Baptist preacher, Kao converted to Churches of Christ in 1967 during a trip to the United States. Upon his return to Taiwan, he made plans to move to Hong Kong where he would train Chinese preachers to preach the gospel in mainland China.
