Description
A typewritten letter dated March 13, 1924, and addressed to R. C. Foster, from William Jennings Bryan, containing Bryan's handwritten signature. In the letter, Bryan declines an invitation from Foster to come to Springfield, Kentucky, to participate in a speaking event, possibly a debate or rally on the Evolution controversy. The follow year, Bryan would be cross-examined by Clarence Darrow on the subject of creation and evolution in the Scopes Trial.
