The Hillsboro Church of Christ was established in 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1973, they moved into a new building, where they currently meet. Batsell Barrett Baxter received a Bachelor of Arts from Abilene Christian College and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. from University of Southern California. He began preaching at Hillsboro Church of Christ in 1951 and continued to preach there until his retirement in 1980. Baxter also served as the regular speaker for Herald of Truth during this time. Dan Harless contributed to publications like Herald of Truth and Gospel Advocate. He also served as a full-time preacher. He worked closely with Baxter during their tenure together at Herald of Truth. Brown and Harless followed Baxter at the Hillsboro Church. These transcripts were widely disseminated by mail, especially during Baxter’s tenure.
