Description

This is a pictorial history of the Abilene Shakespeare Festival produced by Abilene Christian University. Officially becoming a Festival in 1990, ACU produced free Shakespeare (often performing two shows in rep) for Abilene and the Big Country each summer. Beginning in the Beauchamp Amphitheatre, the festival eventually moved into the new Williams Performing Arts Center in 2003. This history goes through 2020 when the show was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.
