Abstract
Brandon Pierce narrates his story in Churches of Christ from the 1990s and early 2000s in Texas. He experienced formation especially in youth groups and acappella singing with peers, leading him to enroll as a youth ministry major. After completing a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies and philosophy and a masters in theology, he worked in several congregations as a youth minister and preaching minister. He discusses his last years in ministry at Stamford Church of Christ, where he served during that congregation’s move to become open and affirming. Finally, he reflects on what he sees as the major influences and challenges now facing Churches of Christ.
