"Teachers and preachers on Sinde Mission payroll" J. C. Shewmaker (fifth from the right) and Orville Brittell (second on the right), American missionaries from Churches of Christ to Zambia (though during their time, Northern Rhodesia), stand with a group of Zambian preachers and teachers who were supported by the Sinde Mission. This mission was one of the earliest in Africa established by Churches of Christ. John Sherrif and W. N. Short, missionaries from Churches of Christ, started the mission in 1922.
