Description

"Klingman Family at pier with friends when leaving Yokohama on return to U. S., because of Mrs. Klingman's health." The Klingman family with their three children and some close friends at a pier in Japan as they are about to depart the country on March 19, 1913 because of Mrs. Klingman's failing health. C. C. Klingman and his wife Clemmie arrived in Japan in August 1908 to join J. M. McCaleb and W. J. Bishop in their work in Tokyo. This photograph is part of a series of five photographs on a scrapbook page arranged by Clara Bishop.
