These papers include two ledgers with sermon notes, newspaper clippings, cloth charts and various multimedia and genealogical information.
Biographical Note
Michael “Mike” Moore Young was born on May 13, 1870 in Elgin, Texas, located in Bastrop County. He was first married to Bertha E. Johnson in 1894. Bertha passed away in 1904. He then married Myrtly J. Gipson who died in 1948. Young began preaching in 1902 and kept preaching throughout his life. He preached in Spur, Matador, Abernathy, Holliday, Andrews, and Groom, Texas; Fort Collins and Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Clayton, New Mexico. He died in 1955.
