Biographical Note

The following biographical note is excerpted from Stumbo’s obituary on Findagrave.com:

“Lawrence- Ernest L. Stumbo, 85, Lawrence, died Friday, Oct. 12, at a Lawrence hospital. Mr. Stumbo was a retired minister at the Church of Christ. He ministered in Churches of Christ in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas and currently was minister to the elderly at Southside Church of Christ in Lawrence the past several years. He also conducted a weekly radio program over KLWN Radio in Lawrence. He was born July 13, 1899, at Bennett, Neb., the son of Fred K. and Ida Mae Ransford Stumbo. He moved from Iola to Lawrence in 1941. Mr. Stumbo was a member of Southside Church of Christ at Lawrence. He was married to Jewel Mildred Grizzle on Feb. 16, 1921, at Harrisonville, Mo. She died April 4, 1981. He was married to Gladys Lucille Fletcher Wood Sept. 5, 1981 at Laurel Springs, Mo.”
