Scope and Content Note

This collection contains the family history and genealogy of the Smith Family. It also includes numerous photographs of Smith ancestors and Mary Wade Smith's immediate family.

Biographical Note

Mary Wade Smith (b. 1920) was an alumna of Abilene Christian College (1942-1948) and an Abilene resident. May Wade Smith's mother and father were from Winchester, Tennessee. Her father was a school teacher and died in 1953, while her mother passed away in 1961, both are buried in Abilene, TX. Her family attended College Church of Christ.

Arrangement

This collection has been reboxed and some items have been rearranged in order to accommodate the items into different sized boxes. Many photographs have been taken out of their original frames in order to better preserve the picture. Otherwise, the collection has retained its arrangement since its accession into the University Manuscripts.
