Scope and Content Note
This collection contains newspaper clippings and articles written by and on both Paul and Margaret Southern. It also includes photographs and Paul Southern's publications.
Biographical Note
Paul Southern enrolled in Abilene Christian College at the age of 25 and graduated with a B.A. in 1930 and married Margaret Moore of Ft. Worth the same year. Margaret Southern in a Bible teacher and received her B.A. from TCU and a masters of education degree from Hardin-Simmons University. She had also done graduate work at the University of Chicago and the University of Louisville. She has served as a school teacher and as a counselor. Dr. Paul Southern has served as a principal, preacher, and minister of various Churches of Christ before being named head of the Bible Department at Abilene Christian College in 1951. He received a M.A. from TCU, a bachelors of divinity and a doctorate of theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

This collection has been rearranged in order to place the entire collection in one box. The items have remained in their original folders but all items in folders have been placed together while bulkier items, such as the books, have been placed behind the folders. The legal-sized folders, photographs, and certificates are lying flat at the bottom of the box underneath the other folders and books.
