Scope and Content Note

A collection of cassette tapes of interviews done with university presidents and other high ranking officials of Church of Christ affiliated colleges. Money created these personal notes, notes from advisors and fellow ministers, and additional information provided by interviewees during his research for his doctoral dissertation, Interviews of thirty leaders within the Churches of Christ on church-state issues: an oral history project compiled in the progress of completing the requirements for the doctor of philosophy degree in religion at Baylor University. The collection is housed in 2 boxes: one containing folders, the other containing cassette tapes.

Biographical Note

Royce Money grew up in Temple, Texas, then earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Abilene Christian University. As a student, he was the vice president of the Students' Association his senior year, then served as assistant to the dean of students from 1964-66. He received a Ph.D. in religion from Baylor University in 1975 and in 1982 he received a master's in human development and the family from the University of Nebraska.

Arrangement

The collection is arranged into folders which are broken into two sections. The first section is a grouping of alphabetized folders of university presidents and high ranking officials’ correspondence with Dr. Money. The second section is additional notes, correspondence, and questionnaires used in the dissertation. The collection also includes taped interviews.
