This collection includes photocopies of Hardin’s correspondence between 1933-1937.
Biographical Note
John Gresham Hardin was born August 26, 1854 in Mississippi. He married Susan Adams around 1875. Throughout his career as an investor and farmer, and following the discovery of oil on his land, he developed a large fortune which he used to fund construction and trust funds for many educational institutions, including Abilene Christian College, now Abilene Christian University. He died on December 16, 1937.
