Scope and Content Note
This collection contains printed copies of Bench's sermons given at a number of Churches of Christ in Texas, the 'Gospel Light' radio program, and printed in the Carolina Messenger.
Biographical Note
Timothy W. Bench was born March 13, 1967 in Garland, Texas to Patricia Landers Bench and Chester Bench, graduates of Abilene Christian College in 1965 and 1966, respectively. He was baptized in 1978 at the Quinlan, Texas church of Christ by Darwin Hunter, and graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1990 with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He earned an MBA in Administration from Texas State University in San Marcos in 1994. He completed the "Theology and Ministry" Certificate program ("With Distinction") from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2018, the New Testament Certificate program from Boston College in 2019, and additional graduate work through the Yale Divinity School. Tim conducted classes and preached as needed at numerous churches throughout West Texas from 2003-2021. He was employed during these years at the ACU Graduate School, Global Samaritan Resources, and as a Chaplain at the Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
