Biographical Note

Brady Kal Cox attended Abilene Christian University (ACU) from August 2011 through May 2018. He earned a BA in Bible and Ministry with a minor in History in December 2014, and an MA in Modern and American Christianity in May 2018. Following his time at ACU, he continued his studies at The University of Texas at Austin, earning a Master of Science in Information Studies (MSIS) in May 2020.

Cox conducted research for his MA thesis, “Postwar Churches of Christ Mission Work: The Philippines as a Case Study,” in the Milliken Special Collections at ACU, and the Meredith Restoration Archive at the Harding School of Theology. He also spent two weeks in the Philippines during August/September 2017 to do research in the National Archives of the Philippines in Manila, and to meet with people in Quezon City and Baguio City who were familiar with William Douglass Gunselman and the Philippine Bible School. Additionally, Cox corresponded with many people via email.

Arrangement

Correspondence with Cox’s thesis committee (Douglas A. Foster, Carisse Mickey Berryhill, and Yukikazu Obata) overlap significantly. Responses from committee members may be found among correspondence organized with other committee members.

Correspondence with Charles and Ken Gunselman is mixed in some places as they replied to the same email chain.
