Biographical Note
The following biographical note was excerpted from June Presley's obituary, published by Abilene Reporter News (2021): "Idaliah June Vincent was born on March 27, 1925 in Cross Plains, TX on a farm to the late George Vincent and Alta Crockett. The daughter of a small town schoolteacher and proud descendent of the Crockett family of Cross Plains, June grew up in the small community of Union on a farm near Anson. She graduated from Anson High School in 1942. She married the late Theodore Woodrow Presley, Sr. in Vancouver, Washington on September 9, 1943. June worked in several clerical positions to include Abilene Christian University and Abilene State School. She was a former member of Southern Hills Church of Christ and currently attended University Church of Christ. June lived a Christ centered life, serving others and living by example. She not only lived a Christian life but also nurtured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, so that they could experience living for and serving God. She was the consummate host, opening her home for Sunday lunch to many students from all over the world that her son and daughter-in-law introduced to her. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family, and having an attentive listening ear, but swiftly communicating her convictions. She savored the simple things of life, especially Dr. Pepper. Her life brings to close a beautiful journey and a strong family legacy."
