Comments
Alexander Campbell was born in 1788 at Ballymena, County Antrim, about a mile from Shane's Castle which is seated on the north shore of Lough Neagh, a very large lake in the center of Northern Ireland. Jane Corneigle Campbell, Alexander's mother, had grown up in this area. This photograph looks south-southeast toward the lake.
