Comments
After Alexander Campbell was born in Antrim in 1788, Thomas Campbell relocated the family to the Sheepbridge area just north of his ancestral home of Newry in County Down, Northern Ireland. There he taught school and ministered to Seceder congregations. The community is named after its fine three-arched stone bridge over the Clanrye (Newry) river on what was then the main road between Belfast and Dublin. This photograph looks west toward the point where the river flows under the new Belfast to Dublin highway.
