Comments

Alexander Campbell attended the University of Glasgow in the 1808-1809 term. Formerly located in the old center city, the University was relocated in 1880 to the West End of Glasgow. The building now called Pearce Lodge "incorporates the old main gateway and other features from the High Street frontage of the Old College, built in the time of Charles II. It is named after Sir William Pearce, whose generosity made possible its reconstruction on the present site in 1887-88.” Alexander would have walked through this gatehouse.
