Comments
After spending three weeks on Islay after the shipwreck, Alexander Campbell with his mother and siblings departed October 27, 1808, from Port Askaig to sail to Glasgow, staying at a hotel in Port Askaig. Founded in 1767, the port still serves ferries to other islands and the mainland.
