Organizer Clara Hazelrigg, wife of W. A. Hazelrigg, was a school teacher and a superintendent of Butler County, Indiana, schools. In 1895 she wrote A New History of Kansas Designed Expressly for Use in the Public Schools. She served as minister of the West Side Christian Church in Topeka, Kansas, from 1914-1931.
