Abstract
Dr. Sara Gaston Barton narrates her life in Churches of Christ. She grew up in rural Arkansas at Melbourne Church of Christ, where she experienced early formation in Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes. At Harding University, she came to know numerous people who eventually convinced her to do ministry in Uganda from 1994 to 2002. After thorough study, she championed egalitarianism. She discusses her experiences as campus minister at Rochester College and later as chaplain at Pepperdine University. She also narrates her reasons for writing A Woman Called in 2012, her education in spiritual formation, and her journey as a preacher of the gospel. Her story is full of good people in many places who played key parts in her formation and journey to become a key leader in Churches of Christ.
