Abstract
Dr. Beth Bowers narrates her story in Churches of Christ in and around Rochester, Michigan. Her family has been involved at Rochester College for decades. Rochester Church of Christ provided early formation, even as in the last two decades Bowers’ history with the congregation has become complicated, especially since experienced hurtful exclusion. Bowers describes her early experiences in Christian schools and the major developments she experienced at Rochester College her freshman year and after. After years of being a ministry, education, and an unfulfilled desire to preach and teach in congregations, Bowers explains her current complex situation as she navigates her calling, gifts, family, and religious heritage.
