Description
"ENOUGH CHURCH PROPERTY to meet the needs of our first congregation in Singapore, Malaya, for years to come, will be provided, the Lord willing, when final purchase of the site pictured above is effected March 3. Comprising 45,518 square feet, total surface area, this strategically situated property has one central building (suitable for lower-floor, 200-person auditorium, with adequate preacher's-quarters overhead) and four smaller buildings (for church-office, class-rooms, and small printing plant). Large empty space on front of property will accommodate much larger auditorium in future, together with facilities for hoped-for preacher-training school." This was one of the properties Ira Y. Rice Jr., American missionary from a cappella Churches of Christ, looked into purchasing for the first Church of Christ congregation in Singapore. He eventually settled on a property on Moulmein Road.
