Tapestry: Journal of Research in Education

Call for Manuscripts

The Tapestry Journal was established to provide critical insight into research in higher education and PK-12 settings. This journal serves as an essential tool for reaching a broad audience in hopes of effectuating positive change throughout the state and nation. As a peer-reviewed research publication, Tapestry: Journal of Research in Education addresses a variety of topics that relate to issues affecting students, educators, and institutions. It is our hope that Tapestry will become an essential resource for practitioners, leaders, and scholars seeking to improve or enhance educational practices.

Special Edition

The next online edition of Tapestry: Journal of Research in Education will be available in November 2026. This will be a Special Edition highlighting manuscripts from members of the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). NABSE, an ACU Dallas partner, is the nation’s premiere non-profit organization devoted to furthering the academic success for the nation’s children – particularly children of African descent. Dr. Wesley Boykin will serve as Guest Editor. He is the NABSE Research and Development Institute Representative and Editor of the Journal of the Alliance of Black School Educators.

For this Special Edition, we encourage submissions on education topics that improve the lives of learners. Preference will be given to manuscripts that focus specifically on improving the lives of African American children. We will accept the following manuscript types: literature reviews, empirical research papers, and practitioner papers supported by scholarly sources.

The submission due date to be considered for the Special Edition is September 14, 2026.

Manuscript guidelines are as follows:

● Submissions should be 4,000 to 6,000 words in length, including references.

● All articles must adhere to APA 7th Edition formatting guidelines. Submissions in different formats will be automatically rejected.

● Two manuscript copies must be submitted: one complete with all relevant contact information for each author, including institution of affiliation, and a second copy with all author information removed (peer-review copy).

● All manuscripts will be subject to a double-blind review.

● Manuscripts should not be under consideration for publication or submitted for publication to another journal, while under review.
