Abstract
This study sets forth the theological basis which provides the foundation for Jürgen Moltmann's call for social and political transformation. Jürgen Moltmann, professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Tubingen since 1967, has come to be identified as the major proponent of political theology. He advocates a critical role for theology against injustices within society. His thoughts are generally oriented toward social and political transformation as a response to the Christian faith.
