Biographical Note
Claud Francis Witty was born in 1877 in Illinois. He attended Culver-Stockton College and studied under evangelist A.M. Morris, both in Missouri, and began preaching in Illinois in 1897. In 1912, he settled in the Detroit area and began working with the local churches there. He worked with the Plum Street Church of Christ for two years before establishing the West Side Central Church where he worked for 32 years. Witty retired from preaching in 1951.
