Scope and Content Note
This collection includes four photographs of early faculty members of Nashville Bible School (David Lipscomb College) founded in 1891. The photographs of David Lipscomb, J.W. Shepherd, E.A. Elam, and William Anderson hung in one picture frame in the study of John T. Lewis who preached in Birmingham, Alabama for many years. John T. Lewis graduated from Nashville Bible College in 1906 and the four men pictured were his professors.
Biographical Note
John T. Lewis (1876-1964) graduated from Nashville Bible School (David Lipscomb College) in 1906. He was instrumental in preaching to the Birmingham, Alabama area. He planted many churches, including the Almaville Church of Christ which stood very near his home.
