Comments

Use photographs of locations in and around Glasgow to develop geographical awareness in students of the Campbell family’s history.

Comments

After finishing the 1808-1809 school year at Glasgow University, Alexander Campbell spent June and July, 1809, in Helensburgh, a seaside village northwest of Glasgow, tutoring children of Glasgow families who were spending the summer there. This stream, Glennan Burn, is one of several originating in the highlands above Helensburgh and running down to the Firth of Clyde. Photograph looks north from a bridge over the Burn near the intersection of Argyle St. and Campbell St.
