After finishing the 1808-1809 school year at Glasgow University, Alexander Campbell spent June and July, 1809, in Helensburgh, a seaside village northwest of Glasgow, tutoring children of Glasgow families who were spending the summer there. This panoramic view of Helensburgh looks from the pier to the Highlands to the north.
