Scope and Content Note
These papers reflect Howard Norton's preaching and also preserve Howard Norton's teaching materials from his time at Oklahoma Christian University and Harding University. This collection contains an extensive set of correspondence spanning his career. The work of the São Paulo, Brazil, mission team is also documented in great detail.
This collection is closed to public research and may not be accessed until 10 years after the death of both donors.
Donor Note
Howard Norton, Jane Norton, and Laurie Norton Diles
Arrangement
The Norton papers are arranged into series according to his ministerial function and by material type. The original order within each series is mostly intact and where intact the processor preserved it. The processor constructed the series structure per se after consultation with the donors. Some boxes were unsorted at the time of receipt and these have been left unsorted; they contain more recent sermons, correspondence and topical files. The creator maintained a few discrete file sets. These were brought together into sequence in Series II, but each subdivision was kept intact and the whole was not interfiled.
