Abilene Christian University offers a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Teaching and Learning with an Initial Certification track. The fifth-year Initial Certification track is designed for high-performing teacher candidates, allowing them to begin graduate-level courses in their final undergraduate semester at ACU. Students then participate in a year-long clinical teaching placement in high-needs schools and classrooms where they conduct an action research project. Based on their research, the students produce an article-length manuscript they can submit for publication.
